Pitchear is an ear-training app. This page says what we collect, why, where it is kept and how you get rid of it. It is short because we collect little.
Who we are
Pitchear is made by an independent developer in Ukraine (“we”). Write to us at support@pitchear.app.
What we collect
- Your account. You sign in with Apple, Google or an email code. We keep the identifier the provider gives us, your email address (or Apple's relay address if you hid it) and, if you allow it, your name. There is no password.
- Your practice. Exercise runs and answers, Rounds results, Tone Recall scores, your streak and your settings (chosen style, skill configurations). This is what the app is for: it is how your progress follows you to another phone.
- Usage and crashes. Which screens you open, what you tap and how practices go (skill, result, time), and crash reports with the device model and OS version. This goes through Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics, tied to your account id, with no advertising identifier. It is part of how the app works and has no switch of its own; deleting your account erases our database, and events already with Google expire after 14 months. No advertising, no location, no contacts, no microphone.
Why
To sign you in, to keep your progress in your account and sync it between your devices, and to answer you when you write to us. Not for advertising, and we do not sell or rent anything.
Where it lives
- Account and practice data are stored with Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
- Sign-in codes are sent by Resend (EU region) from no-reply@pitchear.app.
- Mail you send to support@ or feedback@pitchear.app is forwarded by ImprovMX to our mailbox.
- Usage events and crash reports go to Google (Firebase), which may process them in the United States under Google's terms.
- Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are provided by Apple and Google under their own policies; we receive only the identifier, email and name described above.
These providers process data on our behalf and only for these purposes.
How long, and how to delete
Your data stays as long as your account does. In the app, Settings → Delete account asks us to erase everything: your account and all practice data are deleted 30 days later, and the sign-in with Apple authorisation is revoked at once. Signing in again within those 30 days cancels the deletion. Signing out clears the phone but keeps the account.
You can also write to support@pitchear.app to have your data exported or erased.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with data-protection law, you have the right to access, correct, export and erase your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Ask us at support@pitchear.app; you can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Security
Data travels encrypted between the app and our providers, and access to it is limited to what running Pitchear requires. No method is perfect, but we keep the surface small: there are no passwords to leak, and we hold nothing we do not need.
Children
Pitchear is not directed at children under 13 (or the age your country sets), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the current version.
